1. What JobActuals Does
JobActuals helps you record completed-job revenue, actual costs, internal labour assumptions, notes, and gross margin so you can review whether a finished job made money.
The app supplies internal business calculations. You supply the facts and own the business decisions.
2. First Job Closeout
1. Add a completed job with a job label, trade/category, date, and optional location or customer label. 2. Enter actual revenue, such as final invoice amount, paid amount, retention sum, and variation adjustment. 3. Enter actual cost categories, such as materials, internal labour cost, subcontractors, travel, fees, payment processing, return visits, and other costs. 4. Review the formula breakdown before trusting the result. 5. Add a margin note for what changed the outcome. 6. Export an internal review sheet only after checking the assumptions.
3. Internal Labour Cost
Labour cost in JobActuals is an internal costing assumption. It is not payroll, wage calculation, timekeeping, certified hours, levy calculation, or wage/hour compliance.
4. Formula Breakdown
Every margin result should show the included revenue fields, cost categories, labour assumption, total cost, gross profit, and gross margin formula.
5. Comparable Jobs
Use tags, trades, margin bands, job size, date range, and notes to find similar completed jobs. The app can help you review what happened before. It does not recommend tenders or generate quotations.
6. What JobActuals Does Not Do
JobActuals does not create estimates, tenders, quotations, invoices, payments, payroll records, accounting records, tax records, contracts, legal notices, payment demands, building code guidance, permit guidance, safety guidance, or compliance advice.

1. Is JobActuals estimating or quotation software?
No.
JobActuals is for after-the-fact review of completed jobs. It does not generate estimates, quotations, price books, mark-up recommendations, or tender advice.
2. Does JobActuals create invoices or collect payments?
No.
You can record final invoice and paid amounts as facts for internal margin review, but the app does not create invoices, send payment requests, or process payments.
3. Is internal labour cost payroll?
No.
Internal labour cost is only your own costing assumption for margin review. It is not a payroll record, wage calculation, time clock, certified timesheet, levy calculation, or wage/hour compliance tool.
4. Can I use exports for taxes or accounting?
Exports are planned as internal business review records. They are not official tax, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or compliance records. Work with your accountant or bookkeeper for official records.
5. Does the app sync with QuickBooks?
No for V1.
The planned V1 can export CSV and PDF records for internal review. QuickBooks-friendly CSV formatting may be added without becoming a live accounting integration.
6. Is my data synced?
No for V1.
The build candidate is local-first with no required account, backend, cloud sync, external API, ads, or AI features.
7. Can I store customer names?
The app should work with labels or nicknames so you can avoid unnecessary personal information. If you choose to enter real customer details, treat that data as sensitive business information.
8. Why does JobActuals avoid estimates, payroll, and accounting?
Those features would turn a narrow completed-job actuals register into a contractor operating system with higher cost, more liability, and stronger competitors.
V1 stays focused on completed-job margin review.
